Vaygach Island, Atlantic Walrus Haulout,

and service on Kartesh

Early in the morning the 2016 Kartesh Arctic Expedition visited a walrus haulout on Vaygach Island. Photographers and cameramen took pictures and filmed the red-book animals from a safe distance. This year, there are less walruses on this haulout compared to the previous year. It is likely other walruses are located on a different haulout.

After we returned on the vessel, his Grace Iakov held a service dedicated to the Vladimir Holy Mother Icon holiday.
