Cape Kanin Nos
In the night of July 1 the 2016 Kartesh Arctic Expedition participants disembarked at cape Kanin Nos, where photographers exhibited a couple of their works.
Cape Kanin Nos is a border between the White Sea and the Barents Sea, its shores steep and cliffy. A place where the Earth ends.
There is a weather station on the island, which operates since 1915, and the Kanin Lighthouse, built in 1935 of larch. So far it is in excellent condition.
His grace Iakov consecrated the weather station and the lighthouse. Before the expedition sailed away, Bishop Iakov and father Roman baptized Andrey Grabovsky, the lighthouse keeper, in the waters of the Barents Sea.
Due to the sunny weather, which rarely occurs of the cape, the group of photographers and cameramen worked productively.
