The 2016 Kartesh Arctic Expedition participants visited Shoyna, a polar settlement located on the Kanin Peninsula.
His Grace Iakov consecrated the house of the settlement head Vladimir and the site of the new chapel construction. Moreover, he established a local orthodox community. Until now, there were neither orthodox community, nor a church or a chapel in Shoyna. All the orthodox inhabitants of Shoyna attended a prayer service dedicated to the construction of a new chapel served by Iakov and father Roman.
Additionally, the photographers fixed up an exhibition of their photos on the facade of a local community center.
